Letterbox incompatibility with Mail Act-On 2.0

The prolific and resourceful Scott Morrison of indev.ca has introduced Mail Act-On 2.0, an impressive (paid) upgrade to his always-handy Mail Act-On freebie.

Unfortunately, the customized version of SparklePlus that I use for the auto-update mechanism in Letterbox is incompatible with the newer 1.5 SparklePlus that Scott has included in Mail Act-On. Scott’s worked around the issue, but even with the workaround, if you have both Letterbox and Mail Act-On 2.0.1 installed, you won’t get Sparkle auto-updates for either plugin.

I’ll work on a fix from my end this weekend; it hopefully won’t be too difficult. So if you’re an aggravated user of both plugins, hang in there, and we’ll keep you posted.

Ok, last night I just upgraded to Mac 10.5.6. Today I downloaded the lastest version of Letterbox and installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted computer (imac 24′), etc., etc. Letterbox does not work. There is no differance between Letterbox views and virgin Mail views.

Although I have E-Mailed Aaaron, I think it important to leave my request, with others, that he please expedites a SL version of letterbox asap. It is such a fundamental addition to mail that I would be willing to pay of course. I just hope that enough people leave a request to get some motivation into place.
